As I mentioned in my previous post I've started slimming world.
I had a fabulous start, losing 4lb in my first week, though it's been a bit dicey since. Week 2 I only lost 0.5lb. Week three saw a 4lb gain, though it was my birthday week so that's allowed, and I got a lovely 4.5lb loss the week after. Last week after a weekend away with family eating all the wrong things I somehow managed a 3lb loss, bagging my 1/2 stone award and I got slimmer of the week and I managed my 4th week of bronze and silver body magic, though I'm still awaiting my bits for the body magic award.
This week I lost 1lb, I'm hoping to get my 1 stone award by the last session in June, so I've got 7lb more to go and 3 weeks in which to shift it. We had a taster session so I took in some Balsamic Strawberries (chop up strawberries, add a little balsamic and twice as much sweeter, shake and leave in the fridge for the flavours to mingle) that can be served with fromage fraise (I add a little ground black pepper) for free or melted chocolate for some fabulous syntastic delight! I also took in some Artichoke hearts with a lemon juice, garlic, chilli and parsley dressing. Both went down a storm.
We tried some truly fantastic slimming world recipes this week including a nacho style feast from the slimming world magazine. and an adapted Roasted Beet Medley from Gousto that racked up a good 6 syns but was totally worth it. But towards the end of the week I started to develop 'scraggy horse syndrome' so called because as my Mother-in-;aw describes it some days you get the kind of hunger where you'd eat anything and everything, up to and including a scraggy horse. Except I don't get just a day, I get a string of them, I wander through my kitchen and food flies into my mouth unwarranted, I just have to think of a take away cuisine, just a little glimmer and the idea is stuck until I've eaten a families worth of food in one sitting. These are the periods I need to deal with, these are the periods that cause the wait to sneak on and my backside to start swallowing knickers. That and of course the entire tubs of Ben & Jerry's that I've proved *can* be eaten in one sitting even if they *shouldn't*.
Luckily come today I'm through the other side and I've eaten really well, slimming world style, up to and including a whole bowl of fresh lovely salad with chicken. Tomorrow should be weigh-in day but I have a doctors appointment that the doctor oh so kindly booked for me without checking my availability and I can't reschedule, so I shall have to see if I can hit our local Thursday group instead.
