Pregnancy Update Week 33

This week I am 33 weeks.

Here is my whale like bump, complete with a Boo who insisted I couldn't take the picture unless she was in it!! Bel is apparently the size of a small pineapple, which is deliciously generic, and slightly painful in my head!

I had a midwife appointment this week. Measuring at 31 weeks, so the bump it seems is growing by feel as well as by scan which is reassuring. Still getting Leukocytes, so yet another sample was sent off for testing, and she was a little worried at how tender my bump was when she was trying to take the fundal height measurement, so I've got to keep an eye out for any increased pain or the bump feeling hard, and those age old words get some rest, because apparently I'm not spending nearly enough time at the moment lounging round on the sofa whilst poor Boo fends for herself?

The new midwife I have confirmed that I won't be going anywhere near the MLBU unless I'm signed off by the consultant, this is a pretty unlikely scenario, as Bel is dropping down the centiles, and it will be a miracle if she's between the lines at the next scan, not to mention that my requirement for an active third stage means I'll need to be hooked up to an IV after the birth, and the drugs aren't normally available on the MLBU, so unless they can move me over to the ward for recovery I'd need to go to the normal delivery wards so I'd need to start off on the normal delivery floor to ensure there was space for me.

I've had a horrible horrible cold, lovingly brought home by my husband! With the string of colds I've recently had it kind of feels like I'm not properly getting over one before the next one comes and I am thoroughly run down as a result! I even had to reach for the Beechams earlier in the week (naughty and unadvisable I know) because the cold had crept into my sinuses and my face was a giant ball of pain, luckily I only needed about 4 doses, but I've been keeping a really close eye on Bel's movement since just in case!

Boo has gone to spend the weekend at grannies and she was more than eager to go, I have pottered about a bit today, taken a look through the hospital bags, fiddled about in the nursery, and to be honest, I had this bizarre feeling of readiness for Bel to arrive this weekend, I feel like everything is in place, my husband's at home most of the weekend, so I wouldn't need to worry about contacting him, with Boo at grannies we don't need to worry about someone coming to look after her, though I don't have a clue where the newborn car seat is now I think about it. I know it's far too early, so I won't be making any moves to evict Bel, but as the girls from my various Due in April groups have started dropping babies at an alarming rate given it's February, I don't feel nearly as panicked as some of the other girls in the groups do!

The Bar Book by Jeffrey Morgenthaler I love this book. If I had to pick one book that I considered to be my bible (for the bar at least)...
